Villanova basketball players mentor middle school students

VILLANOVA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) -- Villanova Women's Basketball players mentor middle school students each year, sharing life lessons they've learned on and off the court.

The partnership had its humble beginnings 12 years ago, when Villanova students visited Radnor Middle School to speak to their classes.

That evolved into a mentorship program, which has taken place for the past four years.

Each year, more than 20 eighth-grade girls from Radnor Middle School are selected to join small groups, each led by two Villanova Women's Basketball players.

They have discussions about mental health, time management, social media sensibilities, and leadership. They also do fun challenges, such as creating TikTok videos together.

The partnership is expected to expand, including more sports teams at Villanova in the future.
